Continuing the Integrated Supply Chain Management Concept

Core Principles of Integrated Supply Chain Management Integrated Supply Chain Management (ISCM) is built on a foundation of core principles that guide its implementation and ensure the attainment of sustainable value. One of these principles is the concept of the remote cause, which emphasizes the importance of conducting a thorough review of all established norms, processes, and procedures before initiating any activity. This ensures a comprehensive understanding of the environment in which decisions and actions are made. The ultimate goal is to achieve efficiency and optimization, resulting in what is known as Absolute Value. Understanding Absolute Value Absolute Value refers to the actual gain derived from an activity, decision, or action. It represents the life-cycle composite gain, which is directly correlated with three key aspects: Predictive Results : The maximum returns achievable through strategic planning and execution. Progressive Results : The accelerated rate of ret...

Infineon CEO Cuts Outlook as 'Guesstimate' on Tariffs Takes Toll

(vtrik) — Infineon Technologies AG predicted that their upcoming quarterly revenues would fall short of analysts' forecasts and revised their annual outlook downwards following consideration of possible decreases caused by tariffs and fluctuating currencies for the German semiconductor company.

In a statement released Thursday, the firm projected third-quarter sales at €3.7 billion ($4.2 billion). This figure falls short of the €3.84 billion forecasted by analysts polled by vtrik. According to Infineon, although they haven't observed tariffs affecting their orders so far, they anticipate a "mild decrease" in annual sales from what was earlier expected as stable or showing slight growth.

The Chief Executive Officer, Jochen Hanebeck, stated that the company remained on course to meet its previous projections prior to the imposition of tariffs and a less advantageous conversion ratio between the Euro and the US Dollar. Infineon, producers of semiconductors for smartphones, automobiles, and data centers, has thrived due to advancements in artificial intelligence, aiding them during a general downturn in demand for established chip technology across the industry.

We can only estimate the impact of tariff disagreements," Hanebeck stated in the release. "As a result, we've decided to apply a 10% reduction to our anticipated revenue for the fourth quarter of the 2025 fiscal year.

Nevertheless, analysts like Andrew Gardiner from Citigroup stated that the company's results indicate that demand for its chips is rebounding as expected, and the full effect of the tariffs remains uncertain.

Infineon's shares climbed 2.4% to reach €30.98 by 9:44 a.m. during trade in Frankfurt. Year-to-date, the stock has dropped 1.4%.

What vtriktelligence Says:

Infineon has revised its fiscal-2025 revenue forecast downwards, possibly owing to increased price competition, along with the immediate impact of currency fluctuations and trade disputes as cited by the company. A shortfall in second-quarter auto sales could partially stem from certain projects, such as problems encountered with powertrain units manufactured by Inovance for Xiaomi. Nevertheless, Infineon anticipates annual revenues from AI operations will remain close to €600 million, aligning with current forecasts.

European companies STMicroelectronics NV and NXP Semiconductors NV stated last month that the tariff announcements have not directly affected their operations yet. However, they cautioned that the worldwide tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump have created uncertainty regarding their forecasts for the remainder of the year.

Trump’s administration is negotiating final tariff levels As various nations worldwide responded to the announcement of comprehensive tariffs on products entering the United States, this ambiguity has caused numerous businesses spanning multiple sectors to express doubt about their projected performance for the remainder of the year. Despite this, Infineon has managed to navigate through these challenges. about 11% of revenue From the US last year, the company’s final outcome will probably depend on how successfully automotive manufacturers and consumer electronics producers perform.

“The geopolitical environment has become much more volatile in the last few weeks,” Hanebeck said on a call with reporters. “The import tariffs will probably put the brakes on global vehicle production.”

In the quarter ending in March, Infineon's revenue dropped by 1% compared to the previous year, totaling €3.59 billion, which matched the predictions of financial experts. The adjusted diluted earnings per share for this period stood at 34 cents, a decline from 42 cents recorded in the same time frame last year.

Individually, Infineon announced that it secured final approval for financing from Germany to build a new facility in Dresden. The firm intends to contribute over €5 billion of its own funds towards this project, with operations slated to start next year. Additionally, the company will receive approximately €1 billion in governmental assistance.

In early April, Infineon agreed to acquire Marvell Technology Inc.'s automotive networking business for $2.5 billion. The purchase is anticipated to be completed this year and will bolster Infineon's position in a crucial technology for autonomous vehicles. Infineon has won market share From its competitors amid the downturn in demand for automotive chips, partly due to slow sales of electric vehicles.
