Trump Unveils Budget Cut Plan: $252 Billion Slashed in Key Areas

The White House has unveiled U.S. President Donald Trump's proposed budget for 2026, as his administration seeks to cut $163 billion (approximately AU$252.5 billion) from government spending. This move comes with far-reaching changes to various domestic policies. On Friday local time, the US Office of Management and Budget released information regarding a condensed edition of budget figures, focusing solely on the federal government’s discretionary expenditures. These currently amount to approximately $US1.83 trillion ($2.83 trillion) annually for both defense and non-defense sectors.
