The news: Bill Gates has committed to donating 99% of his wealth and dissolving the Gates Foundation by 2045, moving up previous intentions to disband it following his passing.

During an interview with Bloomberg, Gates stated that the USAID funding halts influenced by Elon Musk’s DOGE have led to "a significant rise in child mortality."

"Money for protecting children from contracting HIV from their mothers at birth has been halted," he stated.

"The image of the planet’s wealthiest individual extinguishing the lives of its most destitute children is far from appealing," Gates stated in a distinct interview with the Financial Times.
