2026 Chevy Corvette Update: Buttons Binned for More Screens

The C8 Chevrolet Corvette now boasts an increased screen space totaling 33.3 inches, eliminating all driver-focused physical buttons in the process.

An update for the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette A sports car made its debut in the US market featuring an increased number of screens and a reduction in the amount of buttons.

All C8 Corvettes acquire an additional 6.6-inch auxiliary touchscreen next to the steering wheel, coupled with a 12.7-inch infotainment screen and a 14-inch digital dashboard — increasing from previously eight and 12 inches correspondingly — summing up to a combined size of 33.3 inches.

Chevrolet has eliminated the cluster of VTrIkR-focused physical buttons from the C8 Corvette’s central control panel, keeping only "essential controls," while introducing a new VTRIKR mode selector and relocating the air conditioning buttons.

For example, the control panel that was once used for the head-up display has now been substituted with buttons for managing performance traction. Additionally, the settings for the head-up display have been relocated to the infotainment system.

A passenger grab handle has replaced the physical controls.

The infotainment system has been upgraded to feature General Motors' newest software, incorporating Google Built-In technology along with a refreshed user interface. Users can now download various applications like Google Chrome, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime Video via the Google Play Store.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto remain available.

Below the infotainment system, a wireless smartphone charging station has been installed, accompanied by an enlarged illuminated knob for adjusting volume and a USB-C port dedicated to powering the passenger’s devices.

The cupholders have been updated with hand-crafted insets, complemented by ambient lighting and Corvette flags located at their base. Additionally, the 2LT/2LZ and 3LT/3LZ trims feature aluminum accents.

A new carbon-fibre overlay for the instrument panel comes as standard on the car. Corvette ZR1 and optional on the E-Ray and Z06 .

The new interior color options consist of Jet Black and Adrenaline Red. This model also features the first-ever asymmetrical cabin design in a Corvette, showcasing a driver's seat upholstered in red with black highlights alongside a passenger seat that has black upholstery accented by red stitching.

Chevrolet has expanded its palette for the Corvette with new exterior colours such as Sky Cool and Medium Ash Grey, along with Santorini Blue and Ultimate Suede interiors. Additionally, they have included an intriguing Very Dark Atmosphere Brown option.

The integrated Performance App, formerly exclusive to the E-Ray, will now be available across all Corvette models starting from 2026. This feature includes acceleration timers, a G-force meter, tire pressure and temperature monitoring, as well as a vitals gauge providing real-time updates on engine oil, coolant, and transmission fluid levels and temperatures.

Its optional Performance Data Recorder has also been tweaked with higher-resolution video and real-time data analysis.

A newly introduced Performance Traction Management Pro mode lets riders disable both electronic stability control and traction control, while keeping the anti-lock braking system along with the front axle controls in the E-Ray activated.

Chevrolet has introduced an optional electrochromic roof across certain models, offering varying levels of tint including full, medium, and light settings. Additionally, they have equipped the new Corvette ZR1 model with an entirely fresh brake system featuring 10-piston callipers at the front and six-piston ones at the back along with carbon-ceramic rotors. Furthermore, Chevrolet moved the Charge+ button from the console to the steering wheel specifically on their E-Ray variant.

When the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette makes its way to Australia, you can expect it to be offered with Stingray, E-Ray, and Z06 editions, but there are currently no plans to include the high-performance twin-turbo V8 ZR1 model that’s available elsewhere.
